Description:  Wide Victorian cuff bracelet is decorated with hand engraving.  The sterling silver bangle is English and has an aesthetic movement motif.  Ivy leaves and bamboo surround a swallow in flight over a lake.  About the aesthetic movement:

In the mid 1850's,  the US and European signed treaties with Japan.  This opened up the East to travelers and a passion for all things Japanese and Oriental followed.   This was the beginning of the Aesthetic movement in jewelry and art.
