Description: This is an unusual memorial piece.  When one looked in the mirror, one would see one's own image.... the image that the angel of death was pulling the shroud back to reveal.   Perhaps this was kept in the Victorian home as a reminder that life is fleeting and the angel of death would eventually visit everyone.  The edges of the mirror are scalloped and beveled which makes the black frame really stand out.
