Mourning miniature on ivory

Superb quality French mourning miniature on ivory.   The hair art picture depicts a wife and mother praying at the tomb of her husband and family.   A touching rememberance is written on the left side of the tomb:   “Here lies my good husband”.    Written on the front of the tomb,   “to the memory of Family Baraduc”.

The mourning miniature is finely executed using shades of brown hair as well as blonde hair.   Note:  the “fence” near the top of the tomb is 3 dimensional and comes out from the ivory background.   (difficult to see in the one dimensional photos, sorry!)

Dimensions:  5.25 by 6.5 inches

Condition:  excellent/near pristine;  there are a few “loose” hair flakes in the picture but they do not move around.   Back has the original shop label and has never opened!    Original label on the back  indicates that this mourning miniature was sold in the shop of Champlerlause, which is located on the Rue st. Pierre,  in the town of Clermont.   Clermont is a city located in the mountains on the eastern side of France.
