Museum quality enamel compact w/Cats!

Without question, this enamel compact, with its delightful cats,  is one of the finest I have ever seen!  I cannot find any hallmarks on it but the owner said that it was made in St. Petersburg, Russia.    At the end of WW II, her father came back from Russia and presented his wife with this beautiful gift.

The compact is sterling silver and at the tip of each clasp is a natural cabochon sapphire.   Inside the compact are three compartments, a mirror in pristine condition and an ivorine note pad.

Dimensions: 4.9 cm by 8.6 cm (approx. 2 inches by 3 and 3/8 inches);  depth is 1 cm or approx. 3/8 inch

Condition:  excellent, no damage or restoration; a few superficial scratches on the top
