Victorian mourning miniature

Victorian hair art miniature commemorating the loss of a young girl.   Written on the tomb, in French is the memorial,   “for my beloved daughter A. B.  1864 16 December”.

Some of the aspects which make this an exceptional hair art miniature include:  the original shop label on the back;  the winged hour glass on the base of the tomb and  the 3 dimensional tree trunk and limbs.
