Georgian garnet mourning brooch

High karat gold Georgian mourning brooch in the shape of an acorn with a garnet in the center.   Garnet is most likely foil backed.   Inscription on back reads, “Thomas Webb obt 24th May 1824 Aged 9 years”.

The unique shape and color of the garnet makes this rare piece especially eye catching.

Dimensions: 0.75 inch wide by 1.25 inches long or 1.8 cm by 2.3 cm

Condition: excellent, no damage or restoration
