Victorian 14kt. gold snake bracelet

Rare Victorian snake bracelet with dangling double sided heart.   The front of the heart is decorated with a forget-me-not containing turquoise petals and a garnet center.   The back of the heart has a wisp of braided hair under glass.

The head of the snake is adorned with turquoise and the eyes set with cabochon garnets.   Note the fine repousse work on both the head and the tail.    The “body” of the snake is comprised of articulated links.   A warm, rich patina further adds to the beauty of this 14kt. yellow gold bracelet.

This was most likely a gift of love;  the snake representing undying love and the turquoise gemstones representing remembrance.

Dimensions:  bracelet is 7 and 5/8 inches long  (19.4 cm);  heart and chain are 1 and 1/2 inches long (3.8cm) ; heart is approx. 1/2 inch wide  (1.3 cm);   gold weight is 15 grams

Condition:  excellent; no damage or restoration.   Bracelet is solid gold.
