Victorian diamond & pearl bangle

Natural pearls and diamonds adorn this stunning yellow gold bangle.   Center pearl is 5mm and is surrounded by ten fine quality diamonds weighing approximately 0.03 carats each.   Pearls are perfectly matched in color and quality and were analyzed by GIA graduate gemologist.  Bangle is 12kt. gold.

Original fitted case;  lid of case has gold stamp of the prestigious  Goldsmith’s Alliance from London.

The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company Ltd was established in 1751.   In, 1880, it became the Goldsmiths Alliance LTD and had a Royal Appointment from the Queen of England.

It had a large and very prestigious shop at 112 Regent Street, London.   An illustration of their shop in “The Queen” magazine of 1884 shows members of society in a grand room with stairs leading to another floor.
The firm took part in the numerous exhibitions including the Fisheries Exhibition of 1883, the Inventions Exhibition of 1885, the Indian and Colonial Exhibition of 1886. They also showed at the International Exhibitions held in Paris 1889, Chicago 1893, California 1894 and Paris 1900, where the display was awarded the Grand Prix.

They merged with the Crown Jewellers, Garrards in 1952.

Dimensions:  1 inch wide;  interior dimension 5 cm by 5.3 cm; oval bangle will fit 5.5 to 7.5 inch wrist; 44 grams total weight (including stones)

Condition:  pristine and in original, fitted box

Year:  1880-1900;  possibly made for the 1889 Paris Exhibition
