Resplendent 18th century girandole earrings and brooch from the Iberian Peninsula. (sold separately or as a set)
Jewelry from the Iberian Peninsula traditionally has been grand in size and style and this stunning set is no exception. The Spanish and Portuguese had access to the abundant gems from the New World and used them to enhance the jewelry masterpieces such as this.
Handcrafted from 12kt. yellow gold and adorned with foil backed garnets, it is a rarity that is a must have for any serious jewelry collector.
Dimensions: Earrings are 1 inch by 1.5 inches (3 cm by 4 cm), not including wires.
Brooch is 4 cm by 4.3 cm.
Year: ca. 1780′s

Are these earrings gone now???……..Is the little loop behind the closure to “hold” them in place on the ear??????
They are stunning.
2nd query:
Approximate inside dimension of the loop on the pique inlaid tortoise shell cross is…..??? ( can’t recall if I already enquired re same) —Amazed it hasn’t sold.
