French 18kt. locket back pendant

Fine quality 18kt. gold brooch/pendant with enamel miniature on porcelain.  Surrounding the enamel miniature are seed pearls, perfectly matched in both color and size.  The pearls are threaded onto a gold wire.

The delightful miniature is set in an 18kt. gold frame that can be worn as a pendant or a brooch.  The c clasp is hinged and lays flat when the locket is worn as a pendant.  The pendant loop is also hinged so that it will be invisible when the locket is worn as a brooch.

The romantic miniature depicts two amours (messengers of love).  One amour has butterfly wings which symbolize the soul.  The other amour (or putti) has a dove in his hand symbolizing the peace and love.  A white dove also represented purity; in this case,  pure love.

The back of the pendant has a glass covered, gold frame that can be easily opened should you wish to place a special photo or keepsake inside.

The back of the pendant contains a wisp of blonde hair, tied with a silk thread,  and a photo.
